Devotional by Elizabeth Jordaan

Today is the 40th day of our 50 Days to bless the Nation initiative. It is Ascension Day. We started praying on Resurrection Day and we are still going to pray until Pentecost. Today I want to ask you to join me as we proclaim the blood of Jesus over our nation.

  1. The blood of Jesus has redeemed us from the hand of Satan, has broken the power of death and removed the fear of death from us as the Church. For this reason we rebuke and resist the spirit of death that is rampant in our nation and pray for life of Jesus Christ will be poured out in our nation for salvation.
  2. The blood of Jesus has redeemed us from all curse, therefore, we nullify and every curse that was spoken over our nation, whether it is from sorcery, witchcraft, hatred, racism, or from any other source. We ask the Lord to remove these curses from us so that our nation can be blessed.
  3. The blood of Jesus has sealed an Eternal Covenant for us. We are in a covenant relationship with God, and therefore we have boldness to approach the Throne of Grace to ask for mercy and grace to be released to us in this time of need in our history.
  4. The blood of Jesus has reconciled us with God and granted us peace with all peoples, with God the Father, and with the land. Therefore, we want to proclaim: Peace over South Africa!
  5. The blood of Jesus has granted us the forgiveness of all our sin. Father, we pray that You would help us to also forgive those who sin against us!
  6. The blood of Jesus, the Son of God, cleanses us from all sin. Father, our land and the people in our land need cleansing. Please, come and cleanse us with the blood of Jesus.
  7. The blood of Jesus, justifies us from all condemnation, so all the devil’s accusations against us are nullified, and God makes us righteous, to stand before Him, as if we have never sinned. We, as a church, must stand in righteousness before God and do the work that He wants us to do.
  8. The blood of Jesus sanctifies and consecrates us, so that we become belonging to our God, dedicated to Him and set apart for his ministry. Father, I pray that You will sanctify the Church and thrust us into the Harvest Field!
  9. The blood of Jesus cleanses our consciences from dead works, so that we can serve God with joy.
  10. The blood of Jesus makes us enter the most holy place to serve God, the Holy One in the heavenlies. Father, open the heavens above South Africa so that we can serve you from heavenly places.
  11. The blood of Jesus gives us victory over Satan and all his principalities and powers. In fact, Jesus disarmed the principalities and powers and therefore, we say: The Gates of Hell will NOT prevail against the Church in South Africa! Lord Jesus, clothe us with the full Armour of God, so that we can stay standing when evil attacks us.
  12. The blood of Jesus is the cause of our eternal joy! Therefore we as the Church join with the Spirit and the Bride to say: “Come, Lord Jesus!”

Please join us for the next 10 days as we continue to bless our nation.

Let us humble ourselves before the Lord, pray, seek His face and turn from our wicked ways, so that God can come and heal our nation. Amen!

Daily Prayer Guide:

Today we celebrate the ascension of Jesus Christ. Let us proclaim the truth about the ascension and the promised return of Jesus Christ over South Africa:

The Apostle Paul wrote: “…I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.” 1Tim.3: 15-16 (NKJV)

Jesus said: “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Mat.24: 30-31. (NKJV)

The Apostle Peter wrote: “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2Pet.3: 9 (NKJV)

Let us together bless the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with this blessing: Blessed are You, our God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ…that we should be holy and without blame before You in love. Eph.1: 3-4, (NKJV)
