Introduction:

Welcome to Day 32 of the ‘Bless the Nation 50 Days of Prayer.’ In week 5 our focus is on the mountain of media and our devotional message is from Vuyokazi Matu, CEO and Co-founder of Okuhle Media, an award winning media and broadcasting company in Cape Town. Vuyokazi shares an insightful message from Genesis 39 on the Josephs’ of today.

Devotional by Vuyokazi Matu:

Hello and welcome to the 50 days of blessing our nation and of blessing the world. This morning we remember Gen. 39:21-23, which says: “but the Lord was with Joseph in the prison and showed him His faithful love and the Lord made Joseph a favorite with the prison wardens. Before long the warden had no worries, because Joseph took care of everything. The Lord was with him and caused everything he did to succeed.”

As we bless our nation in this time and in this hour in South Africa, we remember the Josephs’ that had been in confinement and had been in refinement and as we bless them today we release them to their call. We release them to their depths of their creativity, we release innovation, we release business acumen, we release a new rise and a new spirit within our Josephs’ to be free in this time and this hour. We pray for the people who work in this mountain of media that they will be obedient to the leading of the Spirit. That they will be entrenched in their working of the thing of the Lord and the things of the spirit especially in the hour of racial division, of healing and of restoration. And that at the mention of media and at the mention of issues of race, that our country is burdened with, that the media will play its role, will do its image in the work of the healing and restoration of the nation.

We are in the hour where the kingdom principles must be established. The Bible says: Christ in us – the hope of glory. We are in healing, we are in restoration of the image of media. As we speak of media we are praying for a season where at the mention of the word media: that there will not be pictures of negativity, pictures of nudity and pictures of things that erode from society. We pray for restoration of media. An hour where at the mention of media that there will be healing, that there will be hope, that there will be restoration, that a new hour and a new season of the establishment of kingdom principles and building of a nation. That will stand strong and thrive in society. We pray that the media will continue to display the truth, will be objective, will bring across redemption, reporting, will remove instilling fear and anxiety to society, but and bring hope, to bring credibility and to bring great reality check on issues that are troubling our society. But promote the values that build in our work of the redemption of nations around the world. We speak to magazines, we speak to all forms of media, newspapers, online TV, radio, all forms of media and we just pray that at this time the Josephs’ voice will be released, will be free from all kinds of prisons. That the time of refinement and confinement is over and it is now a time for total take over for the kingdom of God do fulfill its purpose on the earth, Amen
