Introduction:

Welcome to Day 24 of the ‘Bless the Nation 50 Days of Prayer.’ As we continue during Week 4, with the focus on Education and Health, we are blessed to have input from someone who is passionate about Education as an instrument of change for economic empowerment. Wendy Luhabe, who is an economic activist with a special focus on the empowerment of women, identifies the root cause of the current education crisis and provides a possible to solution to this problem from Romans 12.

Education is in crisis throughout the world because it has confined itself to the development of the intelligence of the mind.This focus unfortunately limits us to be conformed to the world.To function as conscious human beings in the World we need to be anchored in other intelligences that are often neglected. We need emotional intelligence, we need social intelligence and most importantly, we need spiritual intelligence.

PRAYER

Let us pray therefore for an Education System that better equips us to be aligned with God’s purpose for each of our lives and to successfully bring our talents to build His Kingdom. The scripture in Romans 12:2 reminds us that we should not be conformed to this world, an age and a generation that dishonors God.Instead we are to be transformed by a renewed mind that is committed to the ideals of the Kingdom of God.Through Education,we should prove, test and discern that God’s will for us is good, acceptable and perfect. Dear Loving and caring God,my prayer for South Africa is that you will renew and inspire the minds and hearts of those that design curricula for Education, to re-instate Lord the features of your original intention for Humanity and a recovery of the potential of the human heart, mind and soul.Bless our Nation eternal, everlasting Father with wisdom and understanding.Grant us a re-newed mind and a mindset that we may witness literal change Lord in our thoughts and in our being. Fill us with the Holy Spirit Lord so that we may be the SALT of the earth and the LIGHT of the world.Let the purpose of Education be to lead us to fulfill your purpose for the privilege of being created in your image Father.Use us to glorify your mighty name in this world and to live in your Kingdom.

Daily Prayer Guide:

“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” (Deut.6:5-7, NKJV)

In the Name of Jesus Christ, we bless the children of South Africa. We bless them with homes that will provide stability, with fathers and mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers that will teach them how to walk in the fear of the Lord. We pray that babies and infants, toddlers and young children will learn to love and respect others, will learn discipline and obedience through loving guidance by both parents, care-takers and teachers. We pray for children to be able to learn basic education in their own home language. We pray for a new generation of teachers who will see teaching as a calling and not just an occupation. Father, raise up Christian teachers in our nation from every tribe and language! We bless the future generation of our nation!
