Introduction:

Welcome to day 18 of “Bless the nation- 50 days of prayer”. Our focus of prayer in week 3 is still on the business sphere and the economy of South Africa. Dr Theo Wolmarans , founder and senior pastor of Christian Family Church International, Johannesburg, is an anointed teacher who presents the Word of God with complete clarity and simplicity. Through his apostolic calling, he is responsible for the formation of many churches throughout Africa and various parts of the world, including the United States of America. In today’s devotional message, Dr Theo discusses 2 Chronicles 7:14 in detail and brings new insight into this well-known scripture.

Devotional by Dr Theo Wolmarans:

How many people must intercede for the nations to be saved and the earth to remain free? Just one is sufficient, if they will pay the price. However, the more who join the cause in prayer, and intercede and share the burden the better. The burden will be lighter if it is shared.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJ) if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Who must be forgiven for their sin? God’s people. “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways…”

What is the sin we need to be forgiven of? It is the sin of not praying like we should. The result is we have allowed the devil to take over this world; it is the sin of allowing demons to have supreme influence in this planet, as we read about in the previous chapter. We are not to allow the devil to run rampant, we are to bind the devil; we must stop him. We are to talk to him in the name of Jesus; he hears what we say when we speak out in the atmosphere. God did not say if the lost humble themselves and pray that He will heal their land.

What does God mean when He says that He will heal our land when we pray? In what way will God heal our land?

No. 1 – Many will turn to the Lord.

No. 2 – God will improve the economy.

No. 3 – God will stop the violence and crime.

No. 4 – People will lose interest in pornography and x-rated movies. Those organizations will go bankrupt.

No. 5 – The sales of alcohol will drop dramatically, and drug abuse will stop.

No. 6 – Perverted sex will stop.

The demonic influence over people in these areas will cease when the church rises up and begins to pray like it can, and should.

We will see people come to Christ in droves.

Acts 2:17 (NKJ) And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;

This prophecy is coming to pass now. God will pour out His Spirit on all flesh in the last days. While darkness is on the increase, God’s light is also on the increase. While Satan and demons are frantic, God and His Spirit are moving mightily in the earth. There is revival coming to the nations of the world.

God is waiting for His church to pray. God is looking for intercessors. We are the generation that is called upon by God to intercede.

Let’s pray. Say along with me. Dear God, in Heaven,in the name of Jesus, we pray for South Africa. We pray for a mighty outpouring of Your Spirit upon this land and upon every person in South Africa. We ask You to touch them by Your Spirit. We ask You, Father, to send labourers who know Jesus, to speak to every person in this country, who has not heard about Jesus or does not know Him. You said Father, we should ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into the harvest , so this is our prayer, in Jesus name.

Daily Prayer Guide:

Please continue to bless South Africa by pronouncing the 3 blessings from Num.6:24-26, Matt.5:2-12 and Eph.1:3-4 over our nation. The Word of God is alive and active to perform God’s purposes on the earth.

Let us once again pray for the cleansing of our hearts and lips: Father God, please forgive me for every harsh word that I had spoken in anger, impatience, hatred or insensitivity, to family members, to people of other races, to leaders or to foreigners. Remove every curse from my lips and use me as an instrument of righteousness to bless South Africa. Help me to watch my words and guard my heart.

Father God, we thank You for giving South Africa rich deposits of gold, diamonds, platinum, coal and other minerals. In the Name of Jesus Christ we bless South Africa’s land and mineral resources. May we deal wisely with what You have entrusted to us, utilize it responsibly and secure sustainability of all natural resources. May all South Africans benefit from these resources and become responsible stewards of it.

We bless the departments of Energy, Mineral Resources and Science and Technology.

PRAYER-DRIVE/WALK: Around mines and industrial areas.

INTERCEDE FOR: Mine workers, Labour Unions, traders and support networks and for the perpetrators who illegally exploit our mineral resources.
