Introduction:

Welcome to Day 13 of the ‘Bless the Nation 50 Days of Prayer.’ As we continue our journey into praying into the areas of government and the judiciary, you will be blessed by what Pastor John Osa, the founder of The Rebirth of Africa Vision and pastor at the Kingdom Heirs Assembly in Rivonia, has to share. Pastor John breaks open a fresh understanding of the role of government from God’s perspective that will give us better insight into praying for our government in South Africa.

Devotional by Pastor John Osa:

Shalom, my name is John Osa, and it is a privilege to be a part of the 50 Days to Bless the nation of South Africa. Every time God talks about blessing towards people or a nation it is because of the mandate that he has called that nation or people to achieve. In Genesis 1 when God spoke to Adam and Eve about blessing it was because He had set them as a government up the on earth to be able to administer the Kingdom government that was on the earth. When God spoke about a blessing over the nation of Israel, it was because He had raised them up to be the nation to bring salvation. So I just want to take a word about blessing from Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder.”
So therefore it is important to understand that the government rest upon the shoulder of the Lord, that is the government that sustains every other government upon the earth, and so today we set the name of the Lord as a blessing over the government of South Africa. The name of the Lord is a governmental name, it’s a covenantal name, it’s a name that as ointment that is poured out. So when the name is set upon the nation’s government, upon the presidency, upon the legislature, upon the members of the national executive council, upon everyone in government, the blessings of the Lord will rest upon them and so every other attempt of the enemy to derail the government of this nation shall not prosper. It is by this shall ye bless my people by setting my name upon them. In Genesis 48:16 it says “Set my name upon the lads and they shall become a multitude upon the earth.” As we set the name of the Lord upon the government, members of government of the nation of South Africa in this day, the government will become a multitude strengthening them that cannot be hijacked that will be able to fulfil the mandate of its call and its electorate so that this nation shall be ready on time to fulfil the mandate that the Lord God has placed upon it. So we bless the government of South Africa, every member of this government with the name of the Lord, the name above every other name. It is written in Acts 4:12, that there is no other name given under heaven by which men shall be saved, except the name of the Lord, the name of the Lord is a strong tower, and we set it upon the government of South Africa. And this government and its call and its people shall find safety, shall find refuge shall find fortitude, shall find comfort. So let us today, set the name of the Lord over every government, over every institution of governors in the nation of South Africa and the blessing of the Lord will rest upon the government, and it’s officials and its institution of governors in the nation of South Africa. God bless you, Shalom.

Daily Prayer Guide:

Pronounce the 3 blessings from Numbers 6:24-26, Matthew 5:2-12 and Ephesians 1:3-4 over our Judicial System. Father God, we bless our judges, lawyers, attorneys, advocates, prosecuting officials and protection services, with safety, integrity, authority and godly wisdom to guard our nation against destructive ideologies, crime, murder, violence, genocide, revolution and rebellion. Bless our Government, o Lord!

PRAYER-WALK or DRIVE: The local magistrate office, chambers of advocates, lawyers and judges. Pray this scripture and ask God to give us the men and women that will execute righteousness and justice: “But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens.” (Exodus 18:21)

Thank you for joining us today in prayer. Grace and peace to you! Have a wonderful and blessed day. Or as we would say it in Xhosa, siyabulela ngokuba kunye nathi kumthandazo namhlanje. Ubabalo no xolo lube kuni! Nibe nosuku oluhle nolu sikelelekileyo.
