Introduction:

Welcome to Day 12 of the ‘Bless the Nation 50 Days of Prayer.’ As we celebrate 23 years of democracy in the New South Africa today, let us never forget the role that prayer played in bringing that about in 1994. One of the generals of the faith and the Gospel in South Africa, who played a major role in that prayer action, is 88 year old Apostle Philip Molefe. In today’s devotional, Apostle Molefe – who has planted hundreds of churches across South Africa – makes an impassioned plea for us to humble ourselves, turn from our wicked ways and pray to God on behalf of our beloved nation, South Africa.

Devotional by Apostle Philip Molefe:

I greet you all, listeners, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I’m Apostle PF Molefe. I read 2 Chron 7:14 in which God is inviting all our people to prayer in order for our country, our land to be healed. There is power in prayer. Our country is faced with challenges and I am appealing to the church and to all the peoples of South Africa to come to prayer. Let’s all come to our knees in times such as this and let’s humble ourselves before God and confess our wrongs and our sins before the Almighty and ask mercy that God forgive us our sins and Father heal our land, our people, our nation as You have promised, “If my people who have called by my name shall humble themselves, pray and seek Thy face and repent from all their sins You will hear in Heaven, You will forgive their sins and You will heal their land.” It is my appeal to all South Africans who love their country, that let’s come to God in times such as this as the church and ask God to intervene and ask God to heal our country. This is my plea in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. May the Lord bless you all. Amen.

Daily Prayer Guide:

Today we celebrate 23 years of democracy in our nation. Father God, we thank you for the past 23 years of relative peace that we had in South Africa. Thank you for the progress that we have made to address the inequalities and injustices of the past. Please forgive us for the racism and injustice that still linger in our societies. We bless South Africa. We bless our constitution. Please help us to amend it so that righteousness and justice will be established in our nation. Help us to root out all forms of discrimination, racism, prejudice and corruption. We pray that South Africa will walk in the plans and purposes that You have for this nation. We pray today for the salvation of the people in South Africa. May every citizen in our nation, and the foreigners amongst us, get the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Father God, bless our Rainbow Nation and make us a blessing to Africa and the world.

PRAYER-WALK or DRIVE: Go to a high place in your community and read the 3 blessings from Num.6:24-26, Matt.5:2-12 and Eph.1:3-4 over South Africa.

Thank you for joining us today in prayer. Grace and peace to you! Have a wonderful and blessed day. Or as we would say in Tsonga, ha khensa kuva mihlangane nahina kaxikhongelo xa dyhambu ranamunhla. Ku rhula kuva nanwina, vanani nasiku lerinene hakhensa.
