Introduction:

Welcome to Day 9 of the ‘Bless the Nation 50 Days of Prayer.’ We continue during Week 2 to focus our prayer on the Government and Judicial spheres. We are indeed privileged to have the Chief Justice of South Africa, Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng, share a powerful prophetic word of God’s plan of restoration for our nation from Joel chapter 2.

Devotional by Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng:

Greetings to you all in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

Mogoeng Mogoeng is my name and it is a great privilege to participate in this 50 days of prayer and the release of blessings to our great nation.

My short exhortation and release of blessings is to be found in Joel 2:25-26 which reads:
25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. 26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.

The people of South Africa have been ravaged by the demons of racism in the form of colonialism and apartheid, crime including corruption, greed, immorality and all manifestations of crass and injustice for centuries. These are the locusts, caterpillars, cankerworms and palmerworms that have caused untold deprivation, indignity and harm to all across the racial and gender divide, to varying degrees. We live in a beautiful country, well-endowed with natural and vast mineral resources. These resources belong to all of us who live in South Africa, united in our diversity.

Our rebellion against God and failure to pray caused Him to let these devourers to descend on us. In other words, we have allowed the devil to steal, to kill and destroy what rightfully belong to us. We must continue to pray so that the devourers can be kept away all the days of our lives. Alone and with others, we must pray without ceasing.

Please use the following declarations as prayer points, through which more blessings would be released to the nation:

  • The Lord God Almighty shall restore all our years, as a nation, that divers devourers have eaten.
  • Our unity shall be resorted the Name of Jesus.
  • Our love and caring for one another shall be restored in the Name of Jesus.

  • We will all become partakers of the overflowing wealth of South Africa, in the Name of Jesus.
  • We shall eat in plenty from now henceforth in the Name of Jesus.
  • We shall not be greedy but shall all be satisfied in the Name of Jesus.
  • Let us magnify, exalt and lift up the Name of the Most High God.
  • Let us give Him the Glory and bless His Holy Name.
  • Let us bless the Lord for dealing so wondrously in the Name of Jesus
  • Our prosperity is resorted in Jesus Name.

Daily Prayer Guide:

Please continue to pronounce the 3 blessings from Num.6:24-26, Matt.5:2-12 and Eph.1:3-4 DAILY over South Africa.

Father God, today we pray specifically for President Zuma, his cabinet members, members of Parliament and the Executive Committee. Pour out your Spirit on them, convict them of sin, righteousness and judgment. May they respond to the love and goodness of God that leads people to repentance. May they open their hearts to receive instruction from your Holy Spirit. In the Name of Jesus Christ we resist and rebuke the forces of evil that want to destroy our nation, and who manipulate and deceive our leaders. We ask for forgiveness for the many sins of corruption, mismanagement, self-enrichment, injustice, dishonesty, lies, ungodly ideologies and criminal behaviour in our governmental offices all across our nation. Bless our Government, o Lord!

Thank for joining us today in prayer. Grace and peace to you! Have a wonderful and blessed day.
