About Us
Intercessors for South Africa (IFSA) was birthed out of a national consultative conference held in Bloemfontein on the 17–19 November 2016, where representatives from 18 prayer networks—comprising 8 national, 5 provincial, and 5 local networks—gathered to seek the Lord concerning the state and future of South Africa.
During this significant gathering, there was a unanimous conviction that the nation needed a united platform through which prayer movements could stand together in a united effort. As a result, Intercessors for South Africa (IFSA) was established.
IFSA exists as a national prayer platform that brings together prayer networks, ministries, churches, and intercessors to seek God for the nation, discern His purposes, and pray strategically into the critical issues facing South Africa.
Our shared vision is to see
- Spiritual Awakening and Revival in the Body of Christ
- Salvation for every language, tribe & people group
- & Godly Governance throughout all spheres of society
From its inception, IFSA has been committed to strengthening relationships among existing prayer networks while honouring the unique calling, mandate, and expression of each ministry. We believe that every prayer movement has a distinct assignment from God, and that these differences enrich the Body of Christ. Our aim is therefore to cultivate greater relational unity among prayer organisations and networks across South Africa.
The heart of IFSA has never been to replace, control, or diminish existing intercessory movements. Rather, we seek to foster unity without uniformity—creating a space where prayer networks can work together in mutual honour while maintaining the freedom to fulfil their individual God-given mandates. Where the Holy Spirit calls us to stand together, we unite in prayer, discernment, and action for the sake of our nation.
We believe that when the people of God come together in prayer, humility, love, and agreement, the Lord releases His blessing and advances His Kingdom, resulting in transformed hearts and divine intervention within our communities, cities, and nation.
