INTRODUCTION
As Intercessors for South Africa (IFSA), we recognise that this is a pivotal season for our nation. While each network will continue faithfully in its own prayer initiatives, we believe there is power in unity. Therefore, we are committing to a coordinated, national prayer strategy that we will journey in together from May through to November 2026.
This united effort will culminate in 21 days of focused prayer and fasting, with guided prayer points prepared by IFSA and shared across all participating networks.
We will officially launch the 21 days of prayer initiative at the IFSA Conference in Bloemfontein (15–17 October 2026). The 21 days of prayer will then run from Sunday, 18 October to Saturday, 7 November, positioning us to intercede both before and after the elections on 4 November.
THEME: CHOOSE TODAY
Our theme, “CHOOSE TODAY,” speaks directly to the heart of this season. Elections are a moment of decision—where individuals choose those who will govern for the next five years.
Throughout Scripture, from beginning to end, we see that God has given humanity the power of choice. He lovingly urges us toward righteousness, while also making clear the consequences of our decisions (Deuteronomy 30:19).
Our assignment in this season is clear:
to prepare the spiritual atmosphere of our nation so that people are guided toward wise, righteous, and God-honouring choices.
PRAYER STRATEGY PHASES
To walk intentionally and effectively, our prayer journey will unfold in five strategic phases:
Phase 1: Awareness & Mobilisation (May)
Stirring hearts, awakening urgency, and mobilising intercessors across the nation.
Phase 2: Voter Registration Process (June – August)
Praying for integrity, accessibility, and widespread participation in voter registration.
Phase 3: Registration of Candidates (Political Parties & Independents)
Covering the emergence and positioning of leaders, praying for righteousness in leadership.
Phase 4: Strategic Prayer Before Elections
Intensifying prayer for discernment, stability, and God’s purposes to prevail.
Phase 5: Election Period (18 October – 7 November)
Covering voting, counting, and results—declaring peace, justice, and integrity throughout.

Each month, IFSA will provide a simple, one-page guide aligned with the current phase, including key scriptures and focused prayer points to help unify our intercession.
