PRAYER FOCUS: BROKENNESS

Day 1 – Ask the Lord to open your eyes and give you understanding of the nation and the reasons why we are broken, hurting, wounded, disappointed, hopeless, angry, rejected, racist and prejudiced. Allow the Lord to also search your own heart on these issues.
Jeremiah 17:9-10, Proverbs 4:23

Day 2 – Thank God for what Jesus did on the cross reconciling all people and things to Himself through His blood. Colossians 1:20-21. Pray that as the church we will take up the ministry of reconciliation He has given to us and that we will be His instruments to reconcile South Africa back to God and to one another beginning in our own families.
Corinthians 5:18-20

Day 3 – Thank God for the provision He made for healing of our brokenness through Jesus by the anointing of His Spirit. Luke 4:18. Meditate throughout the day how Jesus was broken for us that we might be made whole.
Isaiah 53, 1 Corinthians 11:24

Day 4 – Although brokenness is painful when given to God it becomes a sacrifice that He can take and turn around and use for His glory. Let us give God today the brokenness of our heart, our spirit, our family and our nation. Psalm 51:17. Let us ask Him to create in us a clean heart and renew in us a right spirit. Psalm 51:10. Ask Him to heal you completely.
Psalm 51:10, Psalm 51:17

Day 5 – Brokenness came into our lives and nation through a person or people. Ask God to give us the revelation and grace He gave to Joseph who understood that all the evil of people he had experienced God turned around for his good.
Genesis 50:17-21, Roman 8:28

Day 6 – Broken people have a tendency to break others. Today introspect your own life, family, people group and see how this has happened through you. Who have you judged, condemned, despised and broken. Jesus said that as we judge so we will be judged, Matthew 7:1-5 and what we sow we will also reap Galatians 6:7. Let us repent to God and to men and make restitution by changing our attitude to those very people who broke us showing them specific acts of kindness.
Matthew 7:1-5,Galatians 6:7

Day 7 – It is time for us in South Africa to build a new righteous nation for the glory of God. To enable us to do this He has given us the anointing of His Holy Spirit – Isaiah 61:4. Pray for an unprecedented outpouring of the Spirit upon South Africa which will turn the current wilderness into a fruitful field restoring righteousness and justice in the land.
Isaiah 32:15-17.  Isaiah 6:8
