Introduction:

Welcome to the final and 50th day of the ‘Bless the Nation 50 Days of Prayer.’ WOW – what a journey it has been. The destiny of South Africa is forever changed. We started 50 days ago with a devotional by IFSA leader, Pastor Mangaliso Matshobane, so it is appropriate that on behalf of IFSA and the whole of South Africa, Mangaliso gets an opportunity to say a huge word of thanks to God and everyone who participated and to say some final words. While we are all very familiar with 2 Chronicles 7:14, Mangaliso reminds us of the prophetic promise of v15-16, that we need to continue praying and blessing our nation once the 50 Days is over, and then prays for a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit on this Pentecost Sunday.

Devotional by Pastor Mangaliso Matshobane

Welcome, beloved, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. This is Pastor Mangaliso Matshobane and we are once again praying, and this is our last day concluding the 50 Days of Prayer. I want to say thank you to all of you who have stood on the wall and have been watchmen on the wall, faithful to pray, faithful to intercede, daily doing everything that was asked of you to do, whether it was prayer walks, prayer drives, praying at specific places as the Holy Spirit led you. Your work and your labour is not in vain. The Lord will surely visit you in a special way, and I believe most of you have already experienced the presence of the Lord, and we can see that God is already at work in our nation based on the events that are happening in our nation at the moment, and we have that since the prayers have started there has been a lot of shakings, it tells us that the Lord is at work as we pray. Now as we are concluding these prayers we are looking at the Word of God in the 2 Chronicles 7 and we are focusing on verse 15-16 and it says, “Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.” The Lord’s name and the Lord’s eyes and ears will now be over our country perpetually. The Lord promises that now that we have prayed, we will continually begin to experience the answers to the prayers we have been praying during these 50 Days. We have yet to see the hand of the Lord moving in our nation in an unprecedented way. So let’s continue to pray, let’s continue to be faithful, let us not stop even after the 50 Days, let us continue to intercede in our own places and continue to see the hand of God at work in our places. Now let us pray that the Holy Spirit will come on this Pentecost Sunday.

Let us pray: Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask that the presence, the power of the Holy Spirit will descend upon us as a nation. Let the Holy Spirit fill us, let there be a revival that breaks out, a revival of Your presence, a revival of Your power. Let us see an answer to prayer. We receive that answer with thanksgiving, we thank you Holy Spirit, just like you did it in the days of Pentecost, do it again, and let us see a mighty move of God. We release the grace, we release the glory, we release the power and the glory and the presence of the Lord over our nation from this day forward, in Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen.

Daily Prayer Guide:

This is day 50 of # 50 Days to Bless the Nation. On this day of Pentecost when we celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the birthday of the Church of God, let us stretch out our hands towards heaven and bless our God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit:

Father God, we bless You for You are always ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, abundant in kindness and will never forsake us (Neh.9: 17, NKJV). You are the Holy One of Israel, our Saviour, the First and the Last and besides You there is no God (Isa.43: 3; 44:6, NKJV). Great and marvellous are your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are your ways, o King of the nations! Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations, including South Africa, shall come and worship before You, for your judgments have been manifested (Rev.15: 3-4, NKJV).

Lord Jesus Christ, we bless You, You are our Saviour, the Head of the Church, our Good Shepherd, the Bread of Life, the Way, the Truth and the Life, the Light and Word of God, the Son of God and the Son of Man. You alone are worthy to open the scroll that is in the right hand of Him who sits on the throne, for You were slain and have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every tribe and language and people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth. Yes, worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honour and glory and blessing! (Rev.5: 9-10,12. NKJV).

Holy Spirit, we bless You as the Helper sent from God to abide in us and teach us all things. You are the Comforter who testifies of Jesus. You are the Spirit of Truth who guides us into all truth and glorifies Jesus Christ (Joh.14, 15,16). We pray and ask to be empowered by the Spirit from on high, we ask for the restoration of the Gifts of the Spirit (Rom.12: 6-8) to the Church in South Africa, and for the Fruit of the Spirit (Gal.5: 22-23) to come to maturity in the Body of Christ.

Together, we surrender our lives unto You, and present ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service. We pray that we will not conform to this world, but that we will be continually transformed by the renewing of our minds, so that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Rom.12: 1-2, NKJV).

The Spirit and the Bride says: Come Lord Jesus!
