Introduction:

Welcome to Day 6 of the ‘Bless the Nation 50 Days of Prayer.’ Pastor Elisee Yao, the Senior Pastor of Divine Restoration Ministries in Bloemfontein, lists numerous biblical examples of men and women who cried out to God in desperate situations to encourage us South Africans to do likewise and then be expectant that God will fulfil the prophetic destiny He has for our nation.

Devotional by Prophet Elisee Yao:

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord. Fellow South Africans, we are called into prayer and one of the aspects of prayer is by prayer we invite God to move on our behalf in our situation. We have seen in the book of Exodus the Bible says when God met with Moses He said to Moses “I have heard the cry of my people and I have come down to rescue them.” God came down as a result of the cry of the people of Israel. And prayer is also a cry of our heart to God. In the book of Acts 12 we see God moving on behalf of Peter as a result of a prayer of the church. Peter was in prison and constant prayer was offered to God. At midnight God sent an angel and rescued Peter from prison. In the case of James – James was put in prison and there was no prayer offered and he was killed. People we know that prayers, the prayers of a righteous availeth much. I believe also that many people in the Bible prayed. We have the example of Daniel, Nehemiah, Esther. All these people prayed and God intervened in this situation. In this defining moment and critical time for our nation we as people of South Africa should come together in prayer to lift up our nation before God and expect good results from God. I believe as we pray constantly God will move and change something in our nation.

How should we pray then? We should pray in this manner. We should remind God of His promises upon South Africa. Let me give you 2 of the promises that we can also bring before God in this time.

  1. God says that South Africa is the starting point of revival for Africa.
  2. South Africa is the womb of Africa.

Now we know that the enemy is not excited about these promises and will try everything to stop South Africa to enter the prophetic destiny, but that’s where we are to stand up and as we stand up in prayer and remind God I believe that God will lead South Africa in its prophetic destiny. The time must be for us to stand up I prayer in unity. For where there is unity there is power.

Heavenly Father we thank You for who You are. We pray that Your power maybe unleashed in the nation of South Africa. We pray for our government, we pray for our leaders, our education system, we pray for the people in parliament, we pray for the youth, we pray for the men and women of this nation to stand up and be Godly. We pray that the Name of Jesus maybe exalted in this nation. May we all bless South Africa in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

Daily Prayer Guide:

PRAYER-WALK/DRIVE: Churches of different denominations, Christian ministries, theological seminaries, mission stations, etc.

Pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, for workers to be sent out as missionaries and evangelists, for South Africa to fulfil our prophetic destiny. Pray this scripture over them: “that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:16-21)

Thank for joining us today in prayer. Grace and peace to you! Have a wonderful and blessed day. Or as we would say it in Xhosa, …… …. ….
